And as Isildur turned with the Ring in his palm, away from the fires within Mount Doom, Elrond chased him and in a last attempt close-lined Isildur. Over the stone edge Isildur toppled, and into the liquid hot mag-ma he fell, which nonetheless consumed both himself and the Ring. And to think: after all this time, Frodo and them were chasing the wrong ring...
