ok, first, a big thanks to Jean for helping me with this one.
i would like to run a contest.
basically, all you need to do is write an ending for a story i wrote.
The story was originally a character background from the mud i am currently an immortal on, but i not only never play that character, but i also never mud anymore. her background went up to about 2/3 through that story, and then i decided i wanted to continue it. however, i never really got around to that.
THAT is where you come in. write an ending that will be voted the 'best' ending, and you can win a prize. In the event of a tie, well... i'll think of something.
the prize is the WoT computer game, with the guide. not too bad.
however, if you did not want that, already have it, whatever, you can also choose SOME TASTY KAKES (http://www.tastykake.com/?tabId=113) as your prize. obviously, that would involve you sending me your address so that i can ship your prize to you. if you feel awkward about that, know that i have a great track record on ebay (if that helps at all), which you can check HERE (http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedbackFromBuyers&userid=losthandoftyr&items=25&frompage=-1&item=-1&de=off).
the contest will run until two weeks and four hours from the time this message is posted, which is midnight, EST, Friday, february 27, 2004.
to join in this contest, just email a story ending to me, at tyr888@yahoo.com . the story itself does not have to be great by dragonlance's terms/world. hell, you can introduce a new character, and smoothly bring him into play. whatever.
The judging will be done in two steps.
First, i will cut a percentage (the amount of the percentage depends on how many stories i receive) out of the contest, leaving a number of finalists.
Next, i will send the finalists' stories to five judges, for them to vote. the voting process i will explain when we get there.
which brings me to the next junction, where i must ask some help.
if you would like to be a judge in this contest, which earns you a little prize, please, by all means, email me and let me know.
if there are any other questions, feel free to post them.
The story can be found through this link. (http://www.wotism.net/tyr_story.html)
i will be judging the finalists' stories mostly by creativeness.
also, very important, the ending cannot be too short. if you use word, i'd say at least four pages in length.
wherever you would like to take the story though, is entirely up to you.
