George RR Martin--sample chapters

GRRM has added a sample chapter from A Feast for Crows to his website. Go take a look:

Also, here's part of the message GRRM put on his webiste. Interesting to see that he's refering to Sansa as "Alayne" now.

Yesterday I finished another chapter, the thirty-second (though I do move these chapters around from time to time, so it probably won't be the thirty-second when FEAST is finally published). It's an Alayne chapter, and with it in place, I now have 738 manuscript pages in something very close to final draft form. I also have four or five additional chapters, roughly another 100 pages, that are close to completion, and then maybe another 100 to 200 pages of fragmentary chapters, scenes, lines, and notes, some of which will wind up in FEAST, some of which may be pushed into the next volume, of some of which will likely be scrapped. So that's where I am right now.

No, I can't tell you when A FEAST FOR CROWS will be finished, or when it will be published. Not yet. When I know, I'll tell you.

Ooohhhh.....Dany is my favorite character. I so want her to reclaim her rightful throne. It is SO hard to be patient, but at least with GRRM I know the wait will be well worth it.

Rightfull throne? Bah! There be no such thing. Anyway, I don't like Dany's character all that much. Arya is someone I really want to read more about though. And Bran! And Jon Snow - I really want to see what happends when he and Dany meet up. I have my suspicious that that may be a while though. As for Alayne - it's been way too long since I read these books because this only rings the faintest bell! She's with little finger? I've got to re-read these books...but a guy from work's started to read this series and his currently in possession of my copy of A Storm of Swords. And he's treating it badly! It's such a nice quality binding too, much nicer than the WOT book bindings. And he told me that he accidentally dropped it while reading it at work and some grease got on the book and some of the pages...argh! Anyway.

I also noted while when I went to his page that...Legends II is already out in the UK!!

i've known about this ch. for a while now, and i really need to get around to finishing re reading the 3rd so i can read it.
