Tis aboot time someone did make a thre'd aboot 'im :D Isn't he wonderful? The first of his books that I read was 'Truckers' back when I was a wee lad and after reading that and a few others I, quite naturally, started reading the Discworld series. Many a time has he caused me to laugh till tears welled up in my eyes. But he isn't just funny, though I didn't realise it back then of course. He's damn intelligent and it really shows in all his work.

Has anyone noticed how serious his latest books have been though? They're still funny of course, but they're a lot more to do with morals and common sense and that sort of thing. Important things you might say. Especially so when he writes about Vimes and the witches (not so much Rincewind :D ) and even in his most recent book 'The Wee Free Men' which I'm still reading there is a lot of stuff of a philosophical nature along side the hilarious antics of the Nac Mac Feegle. Tis an excellent book so far and, I think, funnier than the last few.

Other books- 'Good Omens' which he wrote with Neil Gaiman is one of he best books I have read and 'The Unadulterated Cat' was brilliant. :)

'I expect you wouldn't have stolen it if you weren't so hungry, then,' she said.
There were several hundred astonishewd looks.
'Oh, we would mistress,' said the helmet-twiddler.
'You would?'
Tiffany sounded so surprised that the twiddler looked around at his colleagues for support.
'Yes, mistress. We have tae. We are a famously stealin' folk. Aren't we, lads? Whut's it we're famous for?'
'Stealin'!' shouted the blue men.
'And what else, lads?'
'Fightin'!'
'And what else?'
'Drinkin'!'
'And what else?'
There was a certain amount of thought about this, but they all reached the same conclusion.
'Drinkin' and fightin'!'
'And there was summat else,' muttered the twiddler. 'Ach, yes. Tell the hag, lads!'
'Stealin an' drinkin' an' fightin'!' shouted the blue men cheerfully.

Carrot is my favorite character, I still get a chuckle when I think about Vimes telling Carrot to throw the book at him. :D

I just started reading the Diskworld again.

I got tired of WoT after reading books 1-9 straight though.

Needed a light hearted break.
