Well, I never really liked the Serpant War Saga. Only could handle reading the Magician books (1 and 2)

But I must say his new stuff is pretty darn good. I've read so far,

Krondor: The Betrayal
Krondor: the Assasins
Krondor: Tear of the gods.

I must say this series is REAL good. It's from the view of Jimmy the Hand so far and is quite entertaining b/c I think the same way he does. ;)

The books are near enough stand alones in plot and make much more sense reading in order but you wouldn't miss much. I highly recommend them  Easily his best work.

Oh and he started another series
Book 1: Talon of the Silverhawk.

I liked it. It was pretty good for a first book and it has me itching in wonder to see where it goes but nothing as captivating as the Krondor series I mentioned above.

Certainly something to munch on in wait for the next Martins book (which I think this rivals it---flees from mob)

'The Assassins' and 'Tear of the Gods' are based on the Return to Krondor game...

Pretty tame also.

Magician was better as the revised edition... Silverthorn was next, followed by 'A Darkness at Sethanon'... think Prince of the Blood after that, then Kings Buccaneer and then a few more... have read all of the books to do with Midkemia except for Jimmy the Hand which I have to get this week.. Serpentwar saga followed that, and then 'Talon of the Silver Hawk' as the start of the Conclave of Shadows series.. which if you read all of the Serpentwar stuff follows on after that. Love Feist. Love the books to bits... Like to read em again and again..

I did not like any of the Magicial or the Scerpent War books. The magician were to my mind to childish. It just did not give the feeling that it was a serious saga, written for adults. In the Scerpent War he tried to be more serious, but it sucked even more. The plot was just terrible. Another thing I don't like is generations of characters. It's like a guy is a character in Magician, then his son in later book and his grandson even futher into the series. Dragonlance had the same problem.
