It isn't fantasy, but I don't care.

This book, written by James Clavell, is AWESOME. I'm only like a fifth of the way through it, which is like 200 pages, as it is GIGANTIC. I'm loving it though. I wish I were Japanese...

More to come.

cool. I shall have to put that on my To Read list. Speaking of Shogun, I just ate at this awesome sushi/hibachi resturant called Shogun. Best meal I've had in years. My uncle, who's been there many times and gone to benihana's a few times said it was the best chef he'd seen. If you are ever in New york, go to it.

The first time I started to read it I did not like it at all and did not finish it. Mainly because it wasn't a fantasy. But then I lived in Japan for a year. After Japan I started the book from scratch and it was much more interesting, mainly because I knew a lot about japanise culture and stuff.

not to drag up a really old thread...but if you liked shogun for hte style and not specifically the japanese culture aspect, he also wrote tai pan about china...shorter, but i've heard similar... tho i havent started it yet.
