Ive been reading these of late. Very entertaining if you like british humour.
The author is Rober Asprin.
Anyone heard of it?

I've read em all about 3 years ago. Very amusing. Obviouly Asprin makes fun of fantasy, but in a good way. I like his sence of humor. They start getting worse after about book 7 though.

If you were to compare this Rober Asprin with the God of fantasy humour (Terry Pratchett), how would he stand up in the comparison? Something of the same style of writing?

Terry Pratchett is to Fantasy as Douglas Adams is to Sci-fi(or Alan Dean Foster).

Then I'll definitely read some of his stuff. I'm always looking for good books.

One of my favorite series. They're very funny, although they go downhill after about book 6 or 7...the author has had a lot of problems coming from various directions that apparently caused this. He only recently is back to writing again (after a 9 year wait and a cliffhanger at the end of the previous book!) and the quality isn't nearly as good. The series is being relaunched though with a new co-author, and it looks like it will probably be better than the recent books in the old series.
I would definitely read them, though, especially the early ones. I literally read the covers off of them...I've had to replace the early ones twice now because I read them so much the pages were falling out. Read the last five or six just for closure to the story. I can let you know how the new series is coming along shortly...the book of short stories that is supposed to bridge the gap between the two is on its way to me now.
