View Full Version : Speaking of missing Forsaken...where's Semirhage?

I have always wondered what became of Semirhage -- where is she, and what is she doing? She has played very little role in the plot so far -- it seems that she tortures and kills that Aes Sedai (whom we had never previously encountered) in I think the Shadow Rising, and then disappears -- she may have showed up in a couple of other scenes, but she hasn't done anything important (at least, nothing we know about yet). It seems odd to me that someone so utterly eeeeeeevil, with such a distinctively and memorably horrible personality, would have done so little this far along. Maybe RJ is saving her for later -- closer to Tarmon Gai'don, or for Tarmon Gai'don itself. But I seem to recall that she wasn't much of a general, so she would be a poor choice to lead the armies of Shadowspawn -- perhaps she would do something on a smaller scale, though.

Hmm, yes. Semirhage's whereabouts are a mystery. In one of the books she says something about her female "wilful charge". (I don't have a page referent, though.) This would maybe be the Saldaean queen or Tuon?

I think it's Tuon and that Semirhage is umm...Anath?? Yeah, Anath. Physical descriptions match, she gets to pretty much torture a member of the Blood.

I wonder if she had something to do with what happened to Sheriam in, I think, tPoD, where one night she is beaten into submission to something or other. I think Sheriam might be Black Ajah, or some sort of captive of the Black Ajah, and Semirhage is giving her orders.

Didn't we see Sheriam "regress bittely" ever contacting X in the Hall? This in connection to having been beaten. This should mean that whoever beats Sheriam would have some connection to the hall. Though...it doesn't quite fit that it would be Halima. If it was Halima, channeling Saidin, then Sheriam would HAVE to be of the black ajah since she's not reporting it. (it would be clear to her that Halima was "of the dark")

No, even though it's easy to get the impression that whoever beats Sheriam is Of the Dark...I think not. Then again....if someone shield her in her tent and use Saidar to do it...wouldn't the other sisters in the camp notice such amounts being used?

that's a good point. . . .you can't have the one power being thrown around in the middle of a pack of Aes Sedai without SOMEONE noticing it. . . .just doesn't go that way. . .

on Wotmania.com, which I visit as often as Wotism.net - no competition between the two:) - it has pretty much been decided that Semi is Anath since, like, December. Anyway, good idea. For more proof, check out the Theory post at Wotmania:)

Of course it was first posted on wotmania. Earlier than December though...when Winters Heart was released in November, some were more eager than others to read the book strait away. Randal was one of these and even took a day off work. He kept all abreast of his progress and posted the Anath=Semirage theory on the Wotism board on wotmania. Can't get to that post anymore for evidence though. Abit of a shame in a way, since it's part of "the wotism history".
The theory post on wotmania IS a really neat feature though:)

I think that in a camp of Aes sedai channeling wouild be ignored because of the number of people all channeling at once

I think Semihage is Annoura. Not really but she is never mentioned much or at all. Really I think Semihage is in Shoyul Goul torturing people into telling her stuff. Kinda like the Head Torturer of Evil. She was in Shoyul Goul when she killed that Aes Sedia and imo is still there doing the Dark Ones dirty work.

I stand by my post :p
Semirhage is Anath, Tuon is her willful charge ;)
And I still think tuon has the ability to learn... What a plot twist that would be for Mat.... Oh Mat what have you gotten yourself into?
