need help....

I hope this does not come across as stupid, but I need something of a changeup in what I'm reading. I was wondering if there are any titles out there that deal with zombies, yeah I said zombies, like the ones in romero's day of the dead series, and not on a comedy scale. I was also looking for any stories that deal with a mad max, waterworld type atmosphere, kind of a post-apocalyptic adventure.

Well, for zombies, you could try the "Anita Blake" series, by Laurell K. Hamilton. They're a bit funny sometimes, but not comedy. And besides zombies they also have vampires, werewolves and fairies, all in modern-day America... :) Oh, and watch "Braindead", although that is arguably comedy. Ok, I'm afraid that's all I know about zombies...
