I want to know if there's a list/databse of good fantasy/sci-fi books? If not, would anyone be interested in helping me make one?

I've been trying to broaden my horizions in the down time between WoT/ Dark Tower books, and it's hard, considering I've not found a descent forum until now.

I think it would be killer to have a database where each book was catagorized and searchable. Example:

The Eye of The World
Athor: Robert Jordan
Publisher: Tor
Rating: Teen (for Violence & Adult Themes)
Summary: blah blah
Categories: Fantasy, Epic

You could even let people rate the books (like Amazon)

Let me know what you think.

that is a damn good idea and i woudl be happy to contribute my meager visual basic programming knowledge to assist you, but it would be a bit epic to do all the fantasy/ sci-fi books it could take years, fuck it ive got nothing better to do

I would mainly just rely on submissions. That way if someone came who knew of books that weren't in the database, they could add it. I'm talking to a friend right now about having him set it up and host it for me. If anyone has ideas on how to do the categories or ratings please let me know. Also, if anyone wants to begin submitting books, just E-mail them to ASUCamino@hotmail.com Make sure to give a name & e-mail address so I can credit you.
