Just a lil' thought mover...

What exactly is the role of the Seanchan. So far all they have done is been a pain in the buttocks to Rand. They stormed the beaches on Toman Head, forced others to adopt their estranged way of life, stole the Horn, made Rand come out there and deal with them. Then, as if one can was not enough, they come back, this time going straight for the major cities, and again, Rand opens another can and sends them fleeing for the most part.

But they have also done some good. If they had not come, Rand would never have been seen in the sky fighting the DO, nor would Mat have blown the horn. They did wipe out those nasty lil vile creature called White Cloaks...

So, what is in store for them? And what role will they play in the LB? Will they side with Rand? It is assumed that Mat, after marrying the DotNM that he will bring them on to the side of the light. But let us not forget they have their own prophecies, and also I, now just my opion, get a general feel that they are evil. After all, AH sons were sent over, only after (Well, at least he claims it to be so) Isha told him to. So, what plots where they wrapped up in of Ishamaels?

Just something to debate on...

Hmmm. Lots of good questions. I dont think they're evil, although I do think they're bad guys. (ie- not knowingly following DO's plans). Their own prophecies are as yet still buried too far within their own weirdo culture to really be able to translate them too much. And yes, they have been a constant pain & yet a key turning point for the storyline in many ways.

I dont think Tuon marrying Mat - even if it happens just like that - is going to change things too quickly - more likely Tuon will be exiled or something.

Yeah, I dont get the feeling they're gonna accept Rand as easily as all the other cultures, I think they mean to rule Randland absolutely & Rand is going to be a major thorn in their foot getting in the way of their intended domination. Although I wonder if they will be going head to head with the Whitecloaks during TG, each keeping the other occupied while Rand does his thing against the DO. ???

Book 10 seems to be a good stage for the Seanchan to play their cards. They'll probably be involved in more than one location, so let me try to break this up:

Act I
scene a:
Mat meets up with the band, band meets up with perrin's gang. Together, they go to open a can of whoopass on the aiel, but get attacked by whitecloaks. who in turn get attacked by seanchan. Because of their overwhelming numbers, seanchan start to win, but Tuon tilts her head up, looks down her nose and the seanchan all run away (it's a special limitbreak power). While the queens, faile etc are rescued, galina also joins into the group.

scene b:
Rand hears about the attacks on camelyn, but he cant assist himself. So he tells mat to go there. So they go north of ghealdan, and eastwards to camelyn, but before whitebridge they stumble across the tower of ghenji. Perrin remember brigitte's warnings, mat remembers his treasure idea(eotw, 319)
olver comes along since he's superglued to mat, and thom thinks the finns will be a better audience for his stories than those lame soldiers. Of course, the wise ones and the 6 aes sedai and 3,well 4(counting tuon) suldam come along, afterall they haven't had a vacation in a while and this is the closest thing to disneyland.
Well, some stuff happens( what stuff you say? well RAFO!!!!!), and mat has to do his 2 aes sedai on a scale thing.

Act II
scene a:
Tuon, the DotNM and also a suldam, with an introduction by mat, whispering/compulsion by anath(semhirage?), the assistance of the male adam, and in a tag team with another suldam (any of the 3 with mat could work), will attempt to control rand. This may lead to the fullfillment of min's visions of rand and a severed hand(which is probably not his own).

scene b:
Right after the collar is put on rand, everyone hops around like muppet babies. LTT roars about not trusting those women channelers for the 100th time, perrin screams to death when faile gets pushed out of the 5th storey window, mat loses an eye while he's trying to free rand, and logain rides in on a grolm with callondor and prunes some arms, including cadsuane's when she keeps trying to slap him. :D

I like it! A lot of ass kickin' battles, violence, deceit. If book ten contains half as much action it'll be the best in the series.

I salute you & If Robert Jordan kicks the bucket before finishing WOT I reckon you should complete his work!

Hmm....if you continue on with those scenes, will we see Manetheren reborn/built somewhere in the future? Maybe with the aid of all that gold that Mat's won playing cards? And with Mat as a First Lord of Manetheren? I'd like that...

Seanchan - The good, the bad, the ugly.

They're all these things. Some good, some bad, some just downright ugly. Somehow they will fight for the light during the last battle, of course. Atleast most of 'em. Rand will "bind the nine moons to serve him" and all that. With the Male A'dam? Maybe...that a'dam works both ways and we know (been told). It might be that some sort of temporary truce/alliance is formed just over the last battle since the DO is a mutual enemy. Then..."the last battle done, but the world is not done with battle..." they go back to fighting again. Maybe.

Just thought I would mention that Ishy mentions that he made Artur Hawkwing send his son to Seanchan to seal two dooms, the first being that Hawkwings empire would crumble (with no heir i guess) and another doom, one yet to come. That makes the Seanchan role not sound very great for Rand and company. Or anybody else for that matter, considering who is saying it.
