Hey everyone.
With that best series post up the other day I thought I'd ask the followup question: Who is everyone's favourite author(s)??
I'd have to say my three favourites would be (in order):
Orson Scott Card:D
Raymond E. Feist
Robert Jordan:)
All fantasy and all great writers who give you more than just a storyline (i.e. :grumbles: David Eddings)
So, who are yours and why? And if for one book in particular, which one?

I have to say that George R. R. Martin tops my list, his world is so real, it sucks you in by not explaining all the details but having a sense of rationality and consistency that I have found in no other fantasy world before or since. I can actually dream his characters with some degree of accuracy. After taht, I think Robert Jordan, Tolkein (all bow to the master), Terry Brooks, and Margaret Weis. It pains me to say it, but, as much as I love the Sword of Truth series, Goodkind is a writer of at best mediocre talents who sucks up RJ's work and pornographies it (is that even a word?). I would not read anything else by him.

I would have to list one of my most favourite authors is Juliet Marilier. Her books have a lot of culture in them, as well as magic etc. I really enjoy reading her books and would recommend them to others as well.
