Different covers?

I found these links and they look kind of like the covers of tEotW and aCoS... but they aren't. Does anyone know what they are from? :confused:

Anyways, that alternative ACoS cover sure does look like Sweet's work. I think it's genuine. I have no idea where it comes from, though.

I think the Great Hunt one was scanned backwards. I don't have the cos cover art so i can't make an opinion on it (i hav efirst ed soft cover with just the crown), but they both look pretty bad. in fact all of the art work does. booooo dks.

Ah, now that i see them...I don't know where the CoS one is from, but I find the EotW pic just inside the front cover of my paperback copy of that book.

I think all of the covers are pathetic. Rand looks very much like Nicholas Cage on the cover of tEotW and has anybody else noticed that Loial appears to be about 5 feet tall on the cover of tGH which is in vast constrast to his nearly 9 foot tall description of him in the books. It seems to me that if Jordan is wanting us to get an idea of what the characters are supposed to look like he would make sure the art work is a little more accurate.

I thought some of them are quite good. Mat and Rand are exactly as I imagine them. And the Trollocs are gross distortions of humanity.

Some of those are the ones that are actually on the books I have. The Great Hunt for example.

I remember reading an interview (or it may have been the FAQ can't remember), where RJ said that he had given up on making the covers accurate, because the artists just wouldn't listen to him...so I guess he hates them just as much as we do!

If he did he would kill DKS and draw the covers himself. (actually, some of the fan art I've seen is better than DKS, especially the WoT stick figures! :D)

The Great Hunt cover there is scanned wrong, and it says the other CoS cover is an alternative.

My CoS cover is just red with gold writing and a tiny crown in the middle, no image. My EoTW is the same only blue...they're both still TOR, so I don't know if the whole series was once released with plain covers or if for some reason only those two were *Shrug*
