Matrix! Favorite movie! (well, one of them...) Now there are TWO things to wait for... will we survive?

Only two? Wow, you aren't really anxious about much, are you?

the cool thing about the matrix is that both of them will be released within 6 months of eachother. This means that nobody will have time to copy and over-abuse the new nifty effects they invent in between releases.

can't wait. can't wait.

Yes yes, the Matrix producers are getting smart.

I wonder what new good fx they got this time

well, apparently, the special effects supervisor (or else producer, can't remember exactly) has stated that they went crazy to produce all new effects that are so ridiculously expensive to manufacture that no one will ever be able to duplicate them. I think that's a pretty bold statement, though, knowing how much money there is floating around in hollywood, being put to no good use at all (waterworld anyone?). Certainly, no one will be able to duplicate them before the 3rd movie comes out. And i guess that's what is important. :) i do wonder what these amazing new fx will be though..
*goes crazy with the wondering*

Meh, if they can do it, ILM can. If ILM can't do something with special effects, NOBODY can.

well, i said it was a pretty bold statement. :)

ILM is good, but I wasn't blown away by Attack of the Clones. I was much more impressed with the first Matrix movie.

I heard they're going to have Matrix-style car chases in it. A good idea I thought of would be Matrix style swimming. They'd be zooming through the water really fast and shooting out of the surface like rockets. Twould be cool :)

Why the hell do we have to make sequels to movies that plotwise shouldn't have sequels?

The Tourist

Why, plotwise, should Matrix not have a sequel? There are still many questions unanswered, the humans still haven't been freed from the robots, we need to see Zion, etc. Andy and Larry Wachowski apparently already had it in their mind to do three films, not just one, before they'd even fully made The Matrix, so it's not like they've just thought, "oh, we might as well do some sequels coz the first one was cool."
In other words, you could say they're not even sequels, they're just the other parts of the trilogy, like in Star Wars.
