Hi, just thought you might like to see this if you haven't already (couldn't find a link anywhere on this board).

CoTcolor (http://35.10.40.62/wotmania/images/mbposts/cotcolor.jpg)

It isn't very good, and looks like DKS has never seen a person riding a horse before. I feel ashamed to call that... thing... Mat.

Another triumph for DKS:rolleyes:

Ummm...is that he-bitch off to the left supposed to be Tuon?

I'm really confused...

I suppose it is a plus that mat is even using the ashandarei...

Bahahahahahahaa!!! That is the worst cover art I've seen in my entire life!!!

The person on the far left is wearing a blue space-suit or something! What is this crap?! Bahahahahahaha!!

If i truely cared, i'd almost feel ashamed of reading a book with such a cover (but i don't judge books by their cover and all, yadda, yadda, yadda)

Blonde with elastic neck- Selucia (right name? Tuon's servant person)
Blue spacesuit "girl" -Tuon
Guy in back- Bayle Domon? (not surprising considering the rest of the art...)
White mustache guy- Thom? (looks like he's dying or something)
Strange archer on right- warder? noal?
Misshapen "person" in front- mat (couldn't tell without the ashandari) *hoping that that thing is not supposed to be mat*

i was hoping for a cover with mat on it, but not like this.
*dies*

If that's Tuon....~shudders~

she looks like something from Planet of the Apes. You'd think that they could get someone...ANYONE else to do the coverart. Michael Wheelan would be good. DKS just sucks. Darell...if you read this...sorry dude, but you should take art lessons or something. ~looks at the pic again and retches quietly~

Oh my god.

i thought after the "Perrin" incident on WH things couldnt get worse.

i was wrong.

does the artist own R.J.'s soul from a bad card game or something?

i cant think of another good enough reason for him still getting work.

How does one retch quietly, Viv?

And I thought the blade of the ashandarei was also black.

You just hold your hands over your ears, Aragorn...

So another Wot Cover gone bad...That darn Darrel K. Sweet! But what would a WOT book be without art work done by Darrel K.? It would still be a WOT book, of course. But it wouldn't look right in my bookshelf if the art work wasn't done by Darrel K. and it wouldn't feel right in my hands. Darrel K., we he the most critizised Cover Artists in Fantasy Fiction history is still a part of WOT and I wouldn't replace him with any other artist even had I had a say in the matter.

About the cover: It's abit hard to judge what Tuon looks like when it's this small and all, but she does look like a girl I think. Albeit not a very womanly girl. According to RJ's description, she isn't supposed to look like a very womanly girl (hips, breasts etc.). She's supposed to be pretty though, but as they say, beuty is in the eye of the beholder. And I to me it looks like she's wearing blue silk asian style clothing, not a space suit :)

The cover could have been alot worse as I see it! Assuming that Darrel K. actually got some instruction regarding what kind of scene there should be on the cover (and I assume this) I believe and hope that the cover tells us that there'll be alot of Mat Action in CoT.

argh!! Mat looks like that sailor guy Owen from That 80's show!! it looks like there's a klingon with a bow and arrow *lol* "Bob" from Black Adder Two chewing her cud (from the looks of things)

Tuon looks like some Star Trek extra, and Thom's (all plump and bursting out of his jacket) is being pursued by an ogre.

perfect *sigh*

btw, wher'e the top of mat's head? it kinda looks like it stops where his hat begins.

Man. I dunno how everyone elses resolution is set up, but, in my browser, its really big.

So, I'm hoping that if you magnify it to see more details, it just sucks more.

Maybe if we blew up all the covers, they would blow.

So, this is me hoping that if you minimized it, a few things would happen:

1. Mat wouldn't look like he's confused/scared of the dark/a braindead jackass/(as stated above, and scarily true) Owen from That 80's Show

2. Thom wouldn't have a seventies-esque Elvis Beer Gut.

3. That guy way in the back would cease to resemble a scary child molester/the guy you keep your kids away from.

Anywho, I think the guy with the bow and Arrow is pretty cool looking. Sad that it isn't any major character whatsoever.

And wasn't Tuon bald?

Look better small...please...

The good thing about the covers is that they can be separated from the books, quite easily and permanently.

(I've often wondered if that is why the covers fall off. Do the books want to stay far away from the art or something?)

Tuon was bald, but maybe there isn't time to shave her head every morning (o no!) and (horror of horrors) she might break one of her precious nails!

Women should definately shave if they have to...
