Hate to post anything from there... here ?! Now, that's not very nice. Do you dislike wotmania? I recognize this sn from there. So you obviously stop in. Or were you afraid of being ostracized for browsing wotmania? :p
I'm surprised this hasn't received more replies... On the other hand, it hasn't been up long, I suppose.
See you back at wotmania Vivacia... hope you don't mind if I tease you about this if I see you there... ;)

Relax, Sparky.
So, I hope the new book moves at a faster pace overall than the last one. Seems like all the really good confrontations and things happened in that last chapter. :(
The jacket sounds good though. I think I am getting a little eager for it to come out! :)

Well, I suppose that by posting something from wotmania here (with a link to wotmania and all!) it could be seen as somehow making it appear that wotmania is supperior to wotism when it comes to top notch wot info....
Sadly, this is currently true
We do hope to rectify this in time though. I do think that we'll need the help of our members for this of course. E.g. it is with the help of wotmania members that this info (the info wotmania posted) came to wotmania's attention etc.
And yea, I do brows wotmania from time to time, as does many other wotists.

It's Sirius Elsrum, a werewolf from Ogre Battle. I used to turn the portraits from the game into partly transparent gifs myself, but now that I've seen other people are doing the grubwork already, I just get them from random internet websites.
Mysmilies.com was where I got this one, under the games section. :D

Wait - whats the thing about Perrin selling his soul?
Edit: I also really can't see any major storylines being tied up or any major characters (Read: Moraine) being brought back. It looks like Ulk is, unfortunately, right...

it seems like its just going to branch into a whole bunch of different plots (as if it hadnt already  ) and then at the end of the book we'll be left with a lot of cliffhangers. :( its kinda sad

heres and idea to through out, if we're suffering in the news department, why not cut a deal with Wotmania and cooperate on it, you know work with each other instead of against each other.

I'm pretty new, so what is up with the Wotmania/Wotism rivalry that seems to exist?
Why can we not have a big ass, RJ inspired, GROUP HUG?
SHARE THE LOVE!
TaskmasterJack
13th May 2002, 12:47
There is no rivalry Plank... it was only a misunderstanding.
I'm sure "the love" is being shared aplenty. :D
Jacob
13th May 2002, 13:41
*Ahem* Sometimes you don't need to say things outloud, you just smile and everyone knows the truth of things. Clearly the smile isn't seen here though. OF COURSE there is a rivarly plank!
Cut a deal with wotmania so that we (wotism) share the news with him, i.e. get the news from wotmania?? Hello, we did try that already! Doth thou not remember the Great Exile??
And why stop at sharing news, why not share art gallery too? It'd be a heck of alot easier to just point a link to the wotmania art gallery instead of updating our own. And why not ask wotmania for a wotism msg board on wotmania like we had during the Exile...hey, why not just point the wotism.net domain towards wotmania while we're at it....
No, of course there is rivalry. Rivarly isn't the same as animosity. Also, as a tad side note to this news thingy: We do hope that some people here will buy CoT though affiliate links here, helping paying part of the cost of the site...we wouldn't exacly go towards that target if we simply pointed such traffic towards wotmania, now would we? :)
Oh yea, and I wouldn't actually recomend pre-ordering the book. Sure, if you do it though a link here at wotism.net we'd be ever so greatfull and it'd benefit wotism.net the most but...in previous experience, there's been no discount on the price on amazon until just after release date. If you care about money, well, the discounts has tended to be significant. Thus leading to even more significantly lower compensation from those affiliate links (due to amazons affiliation deals) but what the heck...users would save more per books than we'd loose per books so there's the math.

It's all simple really. We want to have the best place imaginable for wotists to express themselves in whatever way, or just to hang out, or whatever.
We grow into that. That's not professional, that's evolution.
So hang please, and evolve with us :D

Its just a matter of taste hon, personnaly I prefer wotmania coz of all the nice ppl there, whom I became friends with, and we have people all over the world so theres no dead time. the only downside with the site is all the badspammers. we are closing in to 300000 posts in a few weeks, and thats after our server crashed. I dont know whos biggest of the two sites, but we have over 13000 registrations.
and jordan visits the site from time to time too, at least thats what I've heard. we have a lot of cool community things goiung on and the admins not bad either. with a collaboration with dragonmount, they're interviewing mr. jordan. Its all written in our wonderful site.-
Well, maybe one day we'll have nice people and community stuff here as well

Hey! Two replies in a row from nice people. One more and we have a community with nice people!
It's a shame we all live so far apart though, otherwise we could be all over the globe. Now it's just parts...

Okay first of all: I find the fact that RJ actually communicates with Wotmania/dragonmount via email a heck of a lot more impressive than RJ actually visiting the site. Second of all...are you sure you've got those numbers correct?? I seem to remember that it was only about a year ago or so that Wotmania stated that the number of members were something like 1500. I know that Wotmania's traffic has actually more than doubled since then, but it's still a heck of a jump up to 13 000. Also, like I think you implied with those numbers: Yes, wotmania does have more traffic than us, but the ratio is not as great as you may think...and we're catching up. You have to remember that wotism was reborn not quite a year ago.
Also, I hear that God visits here from time to time and he see's everything that's posted here.

The over 13,000 registered names is misleading on our site (wotmania). That number refers only to registered sn's, and we are allowed to register as many sn's as we want (I notice a one name per e-mail address rule here, a restriction we do not have). Most visitors have only one sn. However, some members have more than 50 screen names (and there are rumors of one or two with MUCH more). Usually, those with multiple sn's have a common name (their callsign, nickname, codename, whatnot), then possibly their real name, variations on their sn (preceding the name with a humorous adjective), and finally, sn's registered for goofing around (like Santa Claus or Tom Cruise). So it is rather difficult to say how many members we have, exactly.
Confusing that is ~nods~
And why would people want a zillion names anyway? I like people to know me for who I am and what I stand for. And if that's not good enough, well, ...
~breaks wind~

besides, if its not quantity, but quality that you're after, then you're in the right place. This place is very silly, fun, intelligent, and creative, but most of all its very genuine. And in my book, anyway, that counts for a lot. ~nods in agreement with self~
