Okay, this is just something I personally would like cleared up. No big crazy theory, just a question. Could someone tell me where (as in book - chapter) Niall is killed? I don't have all my books here, just 1, 2 and 3, so I can't really look it up. However, I was looking something up and noticed that in the prologue to tDR it says that no swords are allowed in Niall's presence. This is why I want to go back and look at his death, I can't remember the details.

I don't remember where this happend, the books all merge together in my head. However, Niall was killed with a knife. That would allow Valda to rush in with a sword to protect the Lord Commander of the Children of the Light.

I think I will have to reread that section when I get a chance, I'm having lots of trouble remembering it, and the plot that goes with it. Stupid school, pushing fun knowledge out of my head and replacing it with boring knowledge...

I'm almost sure he was killed in the Prologue.

Yes you are correct, Pedron niall was killed in the prologue to aCoS, right near the end of it.

Niall was killed in aCoS prologue by Eamon Valda who was in turn killed by Eamon Valda. He is now Lord Captain Commander.

Small correction: it was Abdel Omerna who killed Niall, not Eamon Valda.

i have a friend who was taking a college course online. it was fun stuff. one night we were all over there, and while we were sober, seein how it was a school night, he was drunk off his ass taking this class. it was sort of funny to watch. eventually he quit... guess he ditched class :D

The reason Valda came to Niall's presence with a sword was simply that he was part of the plot to murder poor Pedron. Of course Omerna didn't know he was to die too. I guess he wasn't informed of all the relevant data. :)

Yeah, but don't you think that somebody else would notice? I can't read over it right now, because my books are at home, and not at school with me. You'd think that someone would wonder why Valda just "happened" to bring his sword with him, when nobody is supposed to.

Noone wonders that sort of thing outloud when Valda was already more or less in charge, having brought half a legion of his own soldiers into the fortress with him. Also, most of those that would have had anything (the power) to say on the matter were (seemingly) already in on the plot.
