the seanchan can make ter'angreal

if this threads already bi bashed den i sorry, sum1 give me a good slapping and shut this thread down but i just realised today when rereading W/H that the seanchen must be able to make ter'angreal.
all the ter'angreal are sposed to remnants from the age of legends right, and the true purpose of only a few are known, blah blah....... well how many bloody damane do the seanchan have??? must be hundreds, i reckon there must be over a thousand, and i just clicked when i read that at ebou dar, all the damane with their suldame patrolling the streets have spare a'dame as well. which means i reckon 2000+ a'dam. surely that many a'dam could not have survived the breaking etc????!!!???
they must be able to make them sumhow. i know that if they could make angreal and sa'angreal we should have heard by now, but i am convince that they can make at least this one type of ter'angreal.

Yes, it's true. But it's still rarely that there are damane who can do it.

Also, an Aes Sedai during Artur Hawkwing's age created the contraption originally (then had it used on her, haha.). So there are most certainly still Aes Sedai who can do this, even after the Breaking.

Only Elayne is progressive enough to make the effort to create useful ter'angreal though. I think everyone else is content to just have the power as an intimidation factor, and the Seanchan are too stupid and narrow in their thinking to realized what they're doing. So the only ter'angreals they ever create are those collars.

I don't think that the seanchan even consider the A'dam to be Ter'angreal, not as such. They speak of the talent/ability to make a'dam, not reflecting that it has anything to do with creating other objects of power. May it be that they are not aware of any such thing excisting? E.g. to us (readers) it seems obvious that the Chrystal Throne is an ter'angreal causing anyone infront of it to feel awe of the person sitting in it, but Seanchan do not seem to make the connection the power ---> Awe felt towards the empress while sitting on the Chrystal Throne.

It may be that it is forbidden to create other objects using the power. Ultimately, all a'dam under the command (can't find better wording) of the Empress/emperor, it is what "the power of the Chrystal throne" is founded on. Any other object of the power created, perhaps one that could be used by others than channerlers could fall outside the set up hierachy of Seanchan.

I know that I read somewhere that the Seanchan have a ter'angreal to make the a'dam necklace and bracelet. It must have been in FoH and revealed by Egeanin. I'm just not sure exactly where.

ahhh, i dont remember reading that bit which i guess is where i made ma mistake. i bin thinking all this time that the seanchan could make ter'angreal the way that elayne can make them, i didnt realise that it was a ter'angreal they used to do it.

Abraxas, could you point out to me the place where it says that they have a ter'angreal that makes the a'dam? I don't remember this at all. I don't personally have the bboba, but if someone else does, I know that they can look this up. I thought for sure that the first a'dam was made by some Aes Sedai. There is a whole story about how she made it, presented it as a gift, and then it was clapped on her neck. Something about her "screams shaking the towers" or some such thing.

Just curious, but other than this ter'angreal, if it does exist, have we seen any other that is capable of creating more ter'angreal? Keep in mind that fancloth is not ter'angreal.

the thing about the seanchan is that may know how the make ter'angreal, but they dont understand it, like elayne, and they can only make one type. this is where they have plateaued, and why they havent been making angreals for the last 1000 years.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to make an argument for why the seanchan can make other ter'angreal. All I am saying is that I didn't think it was a ter'angreal making the a'dam.

It was mentioned in TGH when Eg was in training to be a demane that her Sul'dam was mentioning some of the things they were testing her for. She said straight out that if Egwene had the power to make a'dam, she would be sent back to Seanchan and live a very pampered life. It has since been proven that a'dam are in fact ter'angreal. All we have seen about the making of a'dam leads us to beilieve that the ability is a single talent. (ie. you either posses the ability to creat ter'angreal/angreal/sa'angreal with the power or you can not)

The fact that the Seanchan have a standard of care for these women leads the the conclusion that there are some demane who are creating them and living this pampared life. This also means that it is highly unlikely that any of these women will show up in the story since RJ has stated that he has no plans to take the story to that side of the world... It is VERY unlikely that the Empress would allow any of these rare women to come to this side of the world since it would mean risking loosing them...
