I know Demandred is a tired subject, but I had a thought. In book five, doesn't Lanfear have a meeting of Forsaken that have established themselves in the Westlands? (Anath being an exception) So, this means that he assumed a "public" persona sometime after, right? Add this to all the other comments, like Sammael says his marks are all over the south, and he knows what Demandred's friends are doing, tells me that he controls an organization besides the Black Tower.

I have several things to say about this one...

Firist, Westlands in a stupid name. It's Randland ;).

Anath a forsaken? (Anath is Tuon's servant sort of isn't she?) I've never considered that possibilty, or heard it. Please elaborate on that one.

ummm, since i believe it's obvious that Demandred isn't Taim, he doesn't control the Black Tower.

Well, yah, that's all i have to say.....

i think demandred has attached himself to the seanchan, probably as some sort of advisor. this is based mostly on passages of other forsaken.
anath is semirhage. fisical discription matches, has willfull charge, can't leave while on a ship with the Corenne (means demandred is still in seanchan!) Also deductable from forsaken passages.
i'm sure there are plenty of people who have read the same

I never said anything about Taim being Demandred, just that it seems that Demandred controls the Black Tower. Whether this means that Taim is another proxy for Taim remains to be seen. And you have really never heard of the Anath/Semirhage (Sorry about spelling) theory?

I also forgot to point out that Demandred was hoping to blunder into him, according to Graendal. This means that Demandred's public persona is someone that can meet with Rand in book ten. Also, another question to ask is why did Demandred refer to Rhuidean as the cursed city? Maybe his public persona was hoping to meet Rand and didn't have a real good welcome...

Anath/Semirhage theory is a pretty good one, but I haven't seen anything written that positivly proves that one. The whole Taim/Demmandred thing still get to me. I know that they arent the same, but I still don't see how two character can be so similar. Also I don't see why he called the Aiel the"so called Aiel" when he said that I was totally convince, atleast until book ten.

The whole Anath/Semirhage theory feel to much like Taim/Demandred to me.

I will be real disapointed if Anath turns out to NOT be Semi... Considering that She has told us she is working within the ranks of some government organization, has a "Willful Charge" Tuon fits this description nicely, Showed up at an appropriate time in the timeline after the "Mysterious death" of Tuon's previous voice. Plus she is know to take retreat where noone seems to know where she is from time to time & was on one at the time when Rand was fixing the Taint on Saidin. Plus we haven't seen any evidence that contradicts the theory.

With Taimandred there was loads of contradictory evidence...

While it is still in RAFO mode, I am a strong supporter of the Semi-anath theory.

As for Taim, I feel compelled to point out that in Far Madding we saw inside of one of the D/F's heads for a second before Fain killed him. He established the fact that while Taim & Demandred are on the same course they are on diferent ships as Siuane might say. The both gave this D/F an order to kill Rand in Far Madding. There is no need for this redundance if Demandred controls Taim. Demandred would have either given the order himself or had Taim do it. Probably the latter since we only know factually that there was one D/F in the group of deserters.

There is also the redundence of placing Taim in the Black Tower when Osan'gar/Dashiva was in fact sent there by the DO personally. Since Demandred had just recieved a new set of orders in the same time span as Osan'gar, it is unlikely that Demandred would be given orders to do the same thing. If you want to look south for Demandred, I would probably start in Tear since there is enough Anti-Rand turmoil going on down there to hide half a dozen forsaken...

I'm pretty sure Lanfear did the same thing, giving the same command while being Lanfear and then being in a other form. Not sure exactly where, but that's what I have been told.

Sammael was at Graendal's in Arad Doman when he said: "events to the south have demandred's mark all over them." or something of the like. We know the seanchan started their Ryagelle in Tarabon, and lo and behold, that's to the south of Arad Doman.
Also, we know he was a general in the war of power. If anything can be said to have "Demandreds mark", it's a huge military operation. as for Taim, can't he simply be jealous? The only thing I don't get about him is the "socalled aiel" part.

Why can't Sammael be wrong?

Because this isn't real life this is a book, and that is obviously a clue to where Demmandred is.

Hey does Demandred mysteriously disappear before or after we hear the first of Masema.

Whether or not this is the case I reckon there's a chance that Masema might instead be Demandred. I know he has been sort of working with Rand but some of it has been in some way related to attempting to stop the Forsaken.

Just a random thought. Anyone else have an opinion on it???
