-who ordered luc/isam to kill rand in far madding?
- luc/isam can channel true power!

why did the 'contractor' cloak himself? didn't wanna be recognized. This is either because he 1:is one of the mainstream badguys, and didn't want the others to know he's going against orders. 2:learned of rands plan before the rest, and wants to beat the others to it. in this case someone in contact with lanfear -> moridin. 3: moridin told sammael, who escaped with moridin's help in shadar logoth and has been his right hand ever since, sammy can't help himself and orders rand killed.

all the forsaken truly out of the game are the one's being balefired. I don't buy sammy being the first to go, especially since we never saw it happen.

further: non-channelers also can wield true power! How else can isam go in and out of TAR in Far Madding in the flesh without being noticed? either that or he has a ter'angreal wielding the true power.

maybe. . . .i do believe sammy is still out there. . .and it's distinctly possible that he is behind the attack on Rand you mentioned. . .who know. . . .i don't know about Isam using the True Power though. . .but it's entirely possible, especially since it is a seperate power from that of the True Source

RJ has flat out stated that Sammael is dead. I don't have the quote right offhand, perhaps someone else will be so kind as to provide it or a link to it (if the admin doesn't object). Also, why do you assume that Isam is in Far Madding when he tries to assassinate Lan and Nynaeve? I don't believe that was stated in the text. In addition if the Far Madding "ward" against channeling works in a similar manner to the Ogier groves, Isam couldn't reach it from TAR. I forget who stated it (Amys I beleive), but it went something like this: "There are some places one cannot go in TAR such as Ogier groves, Rhuidean..."

Steddings, maybe. but far madding just has some sort of ter'angreal that blocks and detects channeling the one power. Nothing that prevents entering it in TAR. As for Isam not being in far madding, what would the point of that passage be otherwise? just to illustrate that in hunting Lan (or Rand, is Luc's cousin) isam is randomly sneaking into bedrooms all over Randland?

"Damn, missed again! Oh well, let's check nextdoor."

Besides, when isam killed the black sisters in the stone, there were channelers present who would have detected a gateway, as it requires a lot of power.

You're probably right about sammael though.

Besides, Isam/Luc can step from TAR to the real world when ever he wants he doesn't need to channel to do it.

He did the same in book 4, The dream walking and the one power don't go hand in hand. Some of the Wise Ones can enter TAR and cannot channel at all.

Maybe this ablility is something he got form the DO or just the result of the merging of the two people, eitherway it doesn't need the one power to work.
