Well, I'd hate if someone posted a msg like this on my board, but I figure I might as well. Not that I have anything real to say. But I'm glad to see you people sticking together. Harun kindly pointed the site out to me, so I thought I should stop by. Just as a little announcement, there should be some news on the final closing of wotism.org later this summer. Sorry it's taken us this long. Not only have we been too lazy to update the site, we've been too lazy to shut it down. Pitiful, I know. We'll probably have some neato wotism stuff for you lovely people once it's closed. But you'll find out when the time comes. Whenever that is. Anyway, I hope you all have fun.

Hi Nato. The creator himself stops by. Thanks for dropping by, and I'll thank Harun for telling you about this place. It sort of feels like we've gotten your blessing now (ie, no "damn you for stealing our name!". lol

Don't know how this place will grow, but, it's here for wotism like ppl who want to stay in touch. So don't be a stranger and I'll smack Jacob and tell him to come here and say hi.

nato

Oh, well, I thought damn you for stealing my name might be sorta rude. :-P But if you think I should have included that...

So, I'll try to stop by sometimes. But I'm not so active online anymore. It's my antisocial side peeking through. Or something. Anyway. Enough of that.
Oh gosh! Should I fall down on my knees and say "We're not worthy, we're not worthy!" now? :-) We'd love to get all that neato wotism stuff so I'll thank you in advance for that (closing the door for you to backout later ~s~)

Hmm....maybe _all_of it? We like neato and maybe having like a "gost page" a'la original wotism could be something...:)

And of course you wouldn't accuse us of stealing your name...more like carrying on the legacy. Frankly, I'm just surprised that noone else had registered either of the .net or .com versions before. Well, actually I know that someone was considering doing that, but I convinced that person not to...I guess that was naughty of me in hindsight...

So how are things going at college? I know that some people have kept some communication with you...but most of us haven't...

Oh and I remember once long long loooong back you spoke about wanting to be a writer (author) for a living, still into that? Is there perhaps anything else you'd like to tell us that you would never ever tell your mom? ~s~

Jacob

P.S. Like Jean said, you don't have to report in every day or such, but don't be a stranger:-) We should have the wotism.net domain guided to an ip (and locked of course:) rather soon, so you shant have the "I couldn't remember the URL.." excuse from us atleast:)
nato

Well, I think some sort of show of reverence would be in order. Maybe just a "what is your bidding, my master" would suffice. :) Dammit, I tell you people way too much. I shouldn't let you take advantage of me this way. At least this is the last thing that'll happen w/. :P
wotism could be something...:)

As far as your "ghost page" thing, be patient! All will be revealed in time. Or never at all. As always. But, no, this time it will be revealed.

Yeah, mike and I really should have registered .com and .net to keep you rable from taking them. Y'know, I really should be taking you to court. But I'll let it slide...this time. Jacob...you're a sneaky one.

College is good. My first yr at Rutgers went by pretty smoothly, so I guess I'm going back there. Well, I sorta strayed a little bit from that writer thing, but I think I might be back on it. Though I don't know if I'll do it for a living, I definitly wanna do it on some level. I think I'll program for a few yrs until I write the next great american novel.

[ This Message was edited by: nato on 2001-06-10 08:45 ]

Yes, the pitiful rable have gotten to be upstarts and think they can take your place as supreme ruler.
As for all those nifty things..maybe you could reveal just a few of them?

Oh Mighty Master, we are not wothy! But hey, why should we let that stop us? :) On wotism.org there is "shrine to wotism" so maybe we'll make a "Shrine to Nato and Mike" here, would that make you really really really happy...or maybe atleast somewhat pleased? :-)

I'm glad that college is going smoth (meaning "even pains" rather then good?) I can understand that you "strayed". I do that myself all the time and you just went through your first year and all :O

We'll look forward to that Great American Novel of yours. You could use abit of input when writing that I'd say...so there, another reason to drop by here regularely!

I take "Jacob...you're a sneaky one" to be a compliment, Natan! (though mostly I'm called cheeky:)

Programing....ah, I'm trying that...but it's actually Jean that's the really nifty one of the two of us! (thus I'm trying to get better...)
No, jean, I don't think I could reveal any of it. I've given away too much as it is! You will see, in time. Or maybe if you bug me enough. :-)

A shrine really isn't necessary. Though I'm honored. :-)

well, there was good and bad, I guess, as w/ most of life. But I had some pretty good times. Yeah. Straying is a nice euphemism. I hadn't quite meant it that way, but I spose it could apply somewhat. :-p

I'm coming here too much as it is. It shows I really need a job. I wouldn't expect my novel anytime soon.

well, I spose you should take it as a compliment. :-) You always were a pain in the ass. Though not as much as some. :-) That's a compliment too, btw.

programming isn't for everyone. I don't do it very often, but I do enjoy it. If you want me to try to help you out w/ anything, just ask. I've been wanting a programming project to do for a while now.

Colledge is a time for great upheavel and changes. With me my biggest vice in colledge is drinking. Some advice to you would be never to drink Vodka(I am of course refering to the realy cheap "grain" charcoal filtered kind) and eat yogurt at the same time. I have some realy bad flashbacks about that incient.

GWINNA
Personally, I'm a bit more partial to whiskey, schnapps, and beer. But I don't drink to excess, so I tend to avoid all the problems associated with that. Though one time, I drank a bit too much Jameson and I started singing obscene David Allan Coe songs in a pub.

My favorite right now is Jack Daniels but I was mentioning an unfortunate incident when I combined Vodka and yogurt. Just don't do it.

Oh, you know what else can be bad? straight shots of dry gin when you've never drank before. . .oh wait i doubt any of you would have that problem at this point. . . .at any rate my gf and i learned an important lesson: when teaching someone how to drink (ie her teaching me) don't give them lots of strong liquor in rapid succession. . .that and i have a low tolerance, but absorbed it slowly. . .so i could seemingly handle the first 7 or 8 mixed shots (half OJ and half dry gin) but that last pure one hit me about the same time as the first mixed one. . . .oh and then the world began to spin:)

nato
24th June 2001, 04:34
d00d, your bigger problem was that you were drinking gin. Gin is pure, liquid ASS. Ass in a glass, is what it is. Though, I know what you mean. I'm not a very heavy drinker, I drink very rarely, actually, and I have an extremely low tolerance, which has been a bit of a problem for me. But, as far as gin is concerned: JUST SAY NO.

Harun
24th June 2001, 09:39
Hmmm... my grandfather is a big fan of gin n' tonic. He'll always have it at a nice restaurant. I've never tried the stuff myself. I stick with whiskey, personally. Straight up, but in small doses. Or in slightly larger doeses when mixed with Coke.

GWINNA
24th June 2001, 21:14
I perfer Whiskey(Jack Daniels) strait up, but in slightly larger doses like say one of the old plastic super sized McDonald's cup. As you can probably tell I have no problem with low tolerance. Of course When you live where I do, well let me put it this way. We have 2 things in this town, Bars and churches. And we live next to Canada. Of course one should always drink responsibly and with in their limits.

Yay! Hello everyone! Jean and Jacob, I am so glad you are helping to carry on the wonderful tradition of Wotism. Just thought I'd drop by and see the new site. It looks really great and I am suprised to see so many familiar faces already signed up. Its good to see that people kept in touch after Nato struck Wotism its death blow announcement..what was it...a year or so ago? Anyway hello to everyone and Nato I must comment that I don't think I've seen your name on so many posts since the first stages of the Wotism Wars.
Well Jacob, it all began on a lazy summer day in London, I had shown up for work quite late as usual and was sneaking through to the side office to make it appear as if I’d been there since 9am when my boss caught sight of me and all was lost. "The tubes were a nightmare!" I exclaimed, imparting the correct intonations of indignation to the time honoured excuse. But we both knew unwritten law says the tube excuse can only be used for up to 40 minutes lateness, I was over an hour. Punishment was in order. He gave me actual work to do! I forlornly accepted the pile of papers he handed to me, withering inside. So much for the morning Newspapers, not to mention my plan to statistically analyze and organise the stationary cupboard, which included an inspired idea to place pens on the middle shelf instead of the top. Sitting down I logged onto my computer and set to, and of course everyone knows what tedious work combined with an internet connection means... so anyways to cut a short story shorter, lets just say I have my ways

Bleurrrrgh!! Vodka and yoghurt? Worst one I ever did was mescal, the worm (3 times, and a doner kebab after many long island iced teas.... I stumbled, I puked, I laid on the bathroom floor because it was cold and moving less than the rest of the house, and then passed out... There were many sheep joining me in my drunken stupor....

Jacob

Sounds like you had a good time. ROFL! Ah, the fond memories that bring back. Mind you, not at all fond at the time...the kind where you go "~big groan~ never again!" to yourself in the morning That idea about cold bathroom floors sounds like sound advice to pass on to comming generations:) Or maybe what you should avoid doing in order not to have to use such a method? The sheep though...you are Welch, but still...you are talking about sheep as in equally foolish HUMANS, right?!?
