View Full Version : My theory

I've got this cool theory about Rand being Moridin, and I'll post it up just as soon as I read the series again. It's been awhile since I've thought about it and I've forgotten most of my evidence. Yes, I have evidence.

I also hear tell that this theory has been posted on other boards by other people, but just so you know it was MINE originally. I think Ulk might know about it, and I posted it on the original Wotism board so the rest of you might remember as well.

How can Rand be Morridin when Morridin and Rand are Talking in book 7??

I know magy, i was thinking along almost the very same lines.......but before we get the tar and feathers, i would like to hear what facts and reasoning Aragorn has behind this seemingly insane theory. You never know, his basis for coming up with this might surprise you...

Weelllll, it has alot to do with Rand's mind. See, the original theory is that is isn't actually RAND who is Moridin, it is Lews Therin (who is evil, and a servant of the DO) who manages to occasionally take over Rand's mind and body (as he often attempts to do) and uses Mask of Mirrors (I believe that's what it is) to disguise Rand's body. That is why Moridin is described as being of similar height and build as Rand. Moridin wasn't actually there in Shadar Logoth, it was a projection into Rand's mind by Lews Therin. Rand actually subconsiously pulled himself out with the OP, and that's why Sammael knew where he was, and struck out at him with those lightning bolts.

Please, I invite you to ask questions. It helps me remember parts of the theory. It was the only good one I ever came up with, and I was very proud of it.

How can he pull him self up with the one power whe you can't use the power to lift yourself. Rand say's this very thing in book 7, but he wasn't even embracing the source, and I don't care how crazy he is there know way he could be embracing the source and not know it.

nor was Lew Therin evil...

Also (i can't think up them at the moment, i'll get back to you on this...~~starts rereading~~) Rand and Moridin are doing stuff at the same time at different places...now try to tell me that that is Rand using the OP.

I'm sorry, now while this is a original theory, It has no facts to back it up, Like how in book eight Morridin following the chick's around and at the same time Rand's in illian trying to put down a rebelion.

Oh, it has facts to back it up. Its just that there's also facts to disprove it, is all. You've just gotta have a really open mind.

I swear, I had it all written out in paragraph form, noting each proof that I found. This was before WH though, but I forget what was in that one except for the cleansing of Saidin.

I don't mean to dig up more old posts(ok, actually I do), but if Rand really was Moridin, wouldn't he have the saa in his eyes? Wouldn't this tiny simple fact totally disprove this theory? Or do you only get the saa when youre channeling the TP?

no, they ar3e there all the time. its possible (aragorn would argue) that he uses the mask of mirrors to hidethem when hes being "rand" though.
this theories still as far fetched as they come though, i'd give it about the same odds as finding a loch ness monster under my bed!!

hehe....or maybe the same odds as actually finding it in the lake!

No, the Saa is only there when they are holding onto the TP. Every time Moridin uses it, it says the Saa clouds his eyes, or something like that.

It's pretty clear thath Moridin is Ishy. Moridin being Rand in disguise makes about as much sense as Rand being Bella in disguise, and we all know that Rand is not the creator.

There are too many times where Moridin is mentioned in one place, and I don't think Rand is absent so often and for so long. I think Moridin is Ishamael, but I guess we will have to RAFO.

As somebody who once posted a theory not really a theory cause I had nothing to back it up but posted a thought and feeling about something on a wot site....not this site, and got totally flamed for it...I give Aragorn an A for effort and balls to give an opinion.

Yeah, I just thought that it was a rather silly theory. I wish I had a theory! I'll come up with one and then it'll just blow you all away and I'll move up the latter in the WOT heirarchy. Just you wait!

WOT heirarchy is based on theorys? There is WOT heirarchy?
