Those with Extraordinary Observation Abilities may have observed a slight change in the forums.

DO NOT WORRY! You're not going insane: we've added the News Forums, and moved the Wotism News forum to it as well.

Why? Well, it's all part of another goodie. We've changed the front page (well, I did, and Jean's probable going to crack my skull for such blasphemy  ), and on the right of that page you'll see News stuff. The contents for that part are drawn right from the Wheel of Time News forum.

And what's nice about it: if you have a homepage, then you can put that News part on it as well.
The benefit is that you stick one piece of code in your page once, and you're assured to have the latest news on there, umm, forever. The news gets updated several times a day (if there is any). And you support us as well with that :)

There are some restrictions to this, so that's why we have limited some permissions there: you cannot start a new thread in the news forums. Only we can :)

If you like to try it out, stick this javascript code inside the HTML of your homepage and let us know:
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.wotism.net/forums/latest_topic.js"></script>

If anyone is willing to try it out, please let us know! We'll keep you updated :)

umm, I tried pasting it into a page, and it didn't work, the coding was just written on the screen when viewed from IE. That's ~probably~ because I was using Frontpage Express - I can't write html or anything like it :) ... any ideas ?

Just wait a bit for us to make it a little bit better. The code still works, but the links in them don't go anywhere right now.

And you could give us the link to your page. I'll take a look and send you the right HTML code. You can just send me a PM with that link if you like.

Right now I don't think the news thing will be ready before the weekend.
