The question was if how to sign up. If you're registered to the board, you're signed up. You'll get our newsletter if you want it or not. Unless you get angrily noisy about it. This board has a feature to create a mailing list of it's members. The old board didn't, which is why Jean created that original mailing list for you to sign up to. We've been rather slow on the news letters in the last two month, for reasons mentioned, but also largely due to some ineffitiency on my part.
Gwinna raised the question regarding what help he (as a member) could give to the site: As Mike said And help is always appreciated. Finding news stuff and such is difficult. There isn't that much news to go with in the first place, so anything anybody can dig up is most welcome.
We're already working on some "nifty" stuff (to use Jacobian terms), but the succes of it depends on a good news rate, hehe. And we need to get in final, but essential part. I haven't got that one working yet, but I'm so close, I can actually see the light at the end of the Way
And from my part...
Money: Yea, it costs abit to run this place for sure, but I don't think we'll be talking about money contributions. For one, I suspect it wouldn't end up being that much. Mostly because it can be a hassly to do (for the potential donors). We do have hopes that eventually we'll be able cover the costs with book sales though links on this site though. I.e. through the amazon affiliate program etc. (hey, if memebers are buying books from amazon, why not buy the books through our links? It'll not cost any extra)
Content help: I have this idea in my head that we'd do additional pages covering other authors as well as WOT. After all, the people that are interested in WOT are oft interested in other authors as well. And vice versa. What I'm pondering then is for users that are fans of some (perhaps rather unknown) author could help make a page about him/her (series). In part it could perhaps be a kind of Other Members Recomend thing. We would of course never ever give you access to the server to upload stuff yourself, but the idea would be that you could use a standard wotism template and then send it to us for upload. There could possebly be ways (Mike's sorto working on such...) for how you could quite easely update such pages on the site.
Any idea's on what kind of things you'd like featured on these (wotism.net) pages is also something I consider help.
