Is this book worth buying cause it is pretty expensive? And i'm asking opinions of ppl who have it. Cause i couldn't find a bookstore where they had it on the shelve so i had to order it. And i first want to know how cool it is.

I have it & like to use it as a reference. A lot of the info in it (about 1/2 the book) is stuff you already know from the books. But it gives a pretty detailed history of the ages, and some additional background of the Forsaken & when & why they turned to the DO. It also gives a pretty detailed account of the Seanchan ranks & their beasts. I think its worth it to own.

Hmm, I wouldn't buy it, I think. I borrowed it at the library, that was enough. Maybe if I'd thought the art was great or something, but it wasn't...

Yeah I got it...not bad, but not good either....

The artists, sad to say...suck. The majority of the info, is just rehash.

But, it is WOT, and it does have a few tid-bits that you wouldn't be able to find out anywhere else!

It's handy with a couple of interesting items. i things it fairly easy to see what Teressa Patterson wrote, and it's not as good as RJ, but it's OK gennerally. The art is really crap. Worse than the front covers, (except for the map reproductions which are good).

I own it also. I found it to be mostly boring, but with some nice tidbits here and there, like the forsaken.
I forget who posted that first, but i agree. I also agree with the suggestion to check it out at the library first, its worth a read, and then you'll know if you want to buy it.

I own it, of course. I felt that it sucked just after I got it, but it's grown on me. Sure, most of the written stuff is rehash like mentioned and the artwork was dissapoiting and all but some of it was a good read e.g. about like Hawkwing/Guire Amalasan and the maps really were quite nifty. I've always liked the map's of wot. Wot Maps really are outstanding compared to other fantasy world maps.

The military structure bit's are interesting, and the Seanchan exotics.

I don't own this book, although one of my friends does. I think that a lot of the stuff in there is very useful, I use it for the RPG so...I have heard that an updated version will be coming out at some point.

Like everyone else has said, the art is atrocious. In fact, most people on the wizards boards call it the BBoBA (big book of bad art) and I think i may have referenced it as that a few times in the theories section here....

It's not bad, useful for looking things up quick, the artwork is so-so. Check the library first if you really feel like buying it.

If you are looking for it in the bookstore, look for it in the Role-Playing section. That's where I found it.

And the art DOES suck.

The art really sucks.
