First off, it's nice to see Wotism is still alive 8-) I was a read-only guy a few years back; DS introduced me to WoT and then Wotism.

I'm not quite sure if this should go here or in WoT news, but I guess this is the best place. DS might have already posted something to the same effect, but I'm not sure, so here goes:

The WoT d20 system has been created and published. Be warned; they did a bunch of very wrong things.

Many aspects of WoT are portrayed faithfully, but many of the core ideas (channeling) are portrayed in a way that practically laughs in the face of many of the standards we WoT fans hold so dear.

Admitedly, the entire idea of a practically free-form magic system is better reserved for a different kind of system, ie Mage, but many people have expressed concern at the total form of freedom such a system allows PCs.

I guess I'm just saying be wary; don't buy it just cause it's WoT. Flip through it. See if you appreciate what they did with it. It works, and it works well, but it's not quite WoT. I know I wouldn't feel comfertable playing, having read the books.

Well......not bad for my first post in 2 years....

Just go back to drinking, Ulk, this is probably much to 'nerdy' for you.

As far as the channelling system, it isn't what I would have done...but it looks like it is OK and will fit well into the d20 system.

I've heard that its not very accurate to the original world created by RJ, that it is lacking something for AD&D enthusiasts, and because of the inconsistencies, is also lacking something for die-hard wot fanatic. but on the positive side, I've heard it is an interesting deviation from standard sword and sorcery type stuff.
