Taint is going to come back

point is ...it seems to wash and dry .. for it to work... look at the ways... they were made after Sh'iatian tainted sadin..now look at them

i think Rand might of made the sitituation worse... who knows?:confused:

I think it's gone for good. I think I remeber RJ saying that it was gone for good at a book signing, or in a interview or some such.

I can't wait to see the worlds reactions to this though.

I agree with magatsu17, the Taint is something that sets the tone for an age. It would be illogical to assume that the Taint will spill over into the next age. Since there was only one Shadar Logoth, if the taint was reinfected it would be imposible to fix until something else like Shadar Logoth returned to the world.

The only question I have is, with the Taint, the seals & the DO all linked, when the taint was removed, is there any chance the Seals to the DO's prison were broken? We didn't see too much of the world after Rand stopped channeling. It is possible that the DO will be free for the next book.

both very good points

im not saying theres going to be a new shagar loth.. im saing the cleaning of sadiar is too cut and dry....we( the readers) are missing something...

But, i don't doubt that if RJ said that about sadin then perhaps it is truly gone

but i can't shake the feeling since the sadin rand used was tainted.. the work he did..ie the cleaning is tainted as well.

Tim it is a good speculation but i dont know.. i think its too soon for the last battle.....i think Rj (hopefully ) has a few more books to go before the last battle is here...

What about the town Perrin and his posse found the grain in, full of weevils in the middle of winter. The Keepings that the Aes Sedai had woven on their foods hadn't kept out weevils or kept meat from rotting. Maybe in cleansing the taint from Saidin, Rand has inadvertantly spread the evil of shadar logoth and the taint out into the pattern, affecting everything. Just a thought.

The Taint was consumeed by Mashadaer, vica versa. It is completely gone. Mashadar was more powerful than the taint, But im sure it has taken a big chunk away from its power. But it Cunsumed the taint. >Consumed< Its gone buddie...no taint

I have not read book 9 yet, i know what hapens tho, and i can tell you now that RJ Has said openly that the taint is not comming back.

I definetly think that the taint is not coming back, but with it gone, some other element that will affect rand will appear.... it cant be so easy, just to channel whenever he wants without the taint..... something else has to happen, either to the channeling or to rand himself or someone close by....

I don't think RJ will have gone through10 books talking about taint madness in rand and finally demolish it then have it come back. if it does how. Rand is says in the book knows it is gone. didnt one of the forsaken now there protction of madmen is finally gone. ( now they can't rely on rand to go mad and die before it's time to fight the Battle

Yea, i agree, not to mention that if it does come back, Rand can just make it go away again using the CK, if egwene or elayne or someone can find a way to refill it.... BTW, i dont know if ne on'es noticed, but now thats its a new age (the age of illusions) are things going to change dramatically? like things that we've already accepted as the norm?

About the weevles..Ive been thinking. Ok The aes sedai camp alone. If that was the only mention of the weevils I would have said that Halima (Arangar) was messing with the Keeping weave somehow or something.

But what about that town Berelain and Perrin pass through??
There were Weevils there too.... What if that hypothesis is true. What if cleansing the taint destroyed all the seals :eek: OMG what if it did!!!?!?!?!!!?!

Rand will break all bonds...meaning he will break the bonds that tie people to their nations. Like as an example Carhenians mocking and being aiel for faile. etc.... All kinds of crazy stuff...
