it's more than possible that RJ will die b4 he ever completed the bloody-flamin series?
At the rate he's ging you know dang well it may very well happen.
Rj i love yua, but you're a slow-ass sob.
And do ya ever think o fwhat would happen.
My theorie is that the global level of Manic-deperessants/ Homicidal Maniacs and Butt-pirate superiors would bloody well sky-rocket. Wotists of the world would straight up Crack.
What do you say? Can ya think of any other sorts of crazies that would pop up?

Some RJ try-hard d**khead would try and write the rest of the series. They would be flamed so bad, they'd wish they never heard of WoT.
And yeah, Wotists would go insane. There would be news reports of mass suicides. :D

I wouldn't kill myself if RJ died before finishing the series. But it would "kill me", if you know what I mean :O And knowing that RJ has already done the end and that those notes would be burned after his death acording to his will...
It's abit morbid a thing to talk about though. Again, but...not getting to read the end of the Wheel of Time would really suck big time, but also, I have already for some time looked forward to reading his next book/series not-wheel-of-time, that he's given the workingname Shipwrecked.
About FanFiction though: You'd be surprised, there are ALOT of fan fiction out there that is VERY good. One guy that comes to mind is an Israeli named Oren/Barid Bel Medar who has done some massive stuff in the past, including some collaberations with (absent) members of Wotism like Serafelle and one or two more "warriors". These guy's have written hundreds and hundreds of pages in their project, even if I believe nothing for quite some time :( These stories used to help me get though the long wait between releases :)

I must admit, I have SERIOUSLY struggled with this question for many moons, now. What would be worse - RJ dying prior to completing the series or the series ENDING?! Its like the chicken & the egg thing; a true Zen meditation.
Personally, I cant handle the thought of either reality. I do have this fantasy where he finishes the series but due to overwhelming chaos that inevitably ensues by WOTists everywhere going thru mass withdrawal, he begins an offshoot: Something comfortingly familiar, but lighter; perhaps The Travels of Jain Farstrider. Then, (still in fantasyland) I die before him. Everybody wins. I mean, well, you know. Hey, I am not morbid! Just reality-challenged.

Would you happen to have an address for these? If so, I would appriciate some decent reading based on WoT.

Of course, RJ isn't a good enough writer to have TONS of notes of other stories with which to release new novels even after his death, unlike some SUPERIOR authors.

It would be Absolutely horrible If some else tried to finish the sreies. Just as an example The Silmirilian or however its spelled, What a deppresing couple of books, all because Of T's IDIOT son

I remember reading something about the guy who wrote The WIzard of OZ and he kept writing sequels because the kids couldnt get enough of it and then he got really tired of writing about Dorothy so at one of the books at the end there was a letter written by "Dorothy" basically saying this was the last book. Then there was all this letter writing from kids crying about it. So the guy relented and wrote more until he died. I felt sorry for the guy.

As you should, if he was swayed by the pleading of Dorothy-crazed children.

Hey I was looking over at another wot site (hides head in shame) anyway one of the questions that RJ has answered is "Will you have anybody else write if you die" and the answer is NO. So there ya go. He has however, already written the last scene of the last book over 10 years ago. Yeah for me!

I read the whole Oz series when I was in I think 5th & 6th grade, and loved it. I think there were around 20 books in total, altho my memory is a bit skewed, mightve been closer to 10 or closer to 30, who knows. anyway, it was a great series & most of the books didnt have Dorothy in them at all & they still rocked. *Go Frank L Baum*
