But the Rand + Alanna = MPS thing I'm pretty sure was my invention. I agree i mean sometimes i can't stand to be in a room with women let alone have them in my head all the time. It's enough to drive any man insane.

so, did anyone object to the whole Tylin-Mat thang? I know some people do...we had discussions about it on the old board. I mean, I found it pretty funny...and I think the whole thing really helped me like Mat's character better. My first read, I really didn't care for him that much, but my second read through I loved him. But I can understand the objections to it. I mean, imagine if Mat had been the woman and Tylin the man...people would probably have had a lot to say about that.

The whole Mat and Tylin thing i didn't mind in book 7. But by book nine it was just anoying. I mean Mat was in that accurrsed Ebou Dar for 3 books. He didn't really even do anything. I just glad that it's over and Mat can back to doing what he's good at. Planing battles, and Whooping ass.

He's a pretty good dancer too. And to that you could add that he also speaks the old tungue and that drives the lady's CRAZY! Just see what happend with Tylin after he spoke the old tungue to her! (it's the French of WOT) It was his own fault, really :-)

Though regarding that situation...I didn't quite like it, but maybe RJ did it with the *intention* of stirring up emotions and discussions about it? To put some light on similar situation where the person being coerced is a woman?
I agree that Mat COULD have avoided ended up in bed with Tylin, but I think that rather than doing it because he enjoyed it (because he didn't in the beginning...though he's turning into a masochist now), he "endured" because the cost of not allowing it (maybe harming Tylin, a woman?) would have been more than the "gain"

The thing with Mat and Tylin was just proves the differences between men and women. Mat never once in the whole series treated a woman the way Tylin treated him. It would have caused an uproar. But Mat being a man attacked by a atractive woman reacted just like just about any man would have. Even though she was trying to control him, make him into what she wanted him to be, he still had sex with her and enjoyed it.

If a man tried to control a woman the way she tried to control rand she would have kicked his ass all over the place. In the series atleast

Alas, that can not be, you can not be my girl. Beer smell is a turn off and I just can't find anyone taller than me attractive. Besides, I've checked our lovefactor with the old board and we're simply not destined :-(
